Dáil Éireann
On Wednesday the 21st of March, Alison and I went to Dáil Éireann for 2 days of work experience. The morning of the 21st we met Deputy Anne Rabbitte , she brought us to a Barnardos conference where Barnados CEO, Fergus Finlay, spoke about their 'Lost Child' Campaign. Deputy Rabbitte then showed us around Leinster house. On our tour we were introduced to Mícheál Ó Muircheartaigh, who was in the school the previous day. After our tour we were there to witness the politicians vote for the referendum on the termination of pregnancies. 110 politicians voted 'Yes' where as 32 voted 'No'. Later that day we went to another conference on healthcare.
On Thursday morning we attended a meeting about dementia and how the government can help support certain aspects of it. After the meeting we helped Deputy Rabbitte's intern Maggie organize files and folders while Deluty Rabbitte was attending a meeting.
