On Wednesday the 21st of March, Alison and I went up to Dáil Éireann for 2 days of work experience. The morning of the 21st we met Deputy Anne Rabbitte and she brought us to a Barnardos conference. At the conference, 'Barnados' CEO, Fergus Finlay, spoke about their 'Lost Child' Campaign. Deputy Rabbitte then showed us around Leinster house. On our tour we were introduced to Mícheál Ó Muircheartaigh, who had visited the school the day before. After our tour we were lucky enough to witness the politicians vote to have a referendum on the termination of pregnancies. 110 politicians voted 'Yes' and 32 voted 'No'. Later that day we went to another conference on healthcare.
On Thursday morning we attended a meeting about dementia and how the government can help support certain aspects of it. After the meeting we helped Deputy Rabbitte's intern organize files and folders while she was in a meeting.
